The following quote is from christianfarmandranchman.wordpress.com
“You know, there comes a time in a fellers walk that he just gotta turn away from the crowd and do what supposed to do and not worry what folks thing or say. We say that we have Jesus in us, or that’s what we say in Children’s Church anyhow, but sometimes I really wonder about that. Would Christ be satisfied just coming to church all the time and doing the church stuff, doing the programs, acting the act, putting on that nice churchy show. The more and more I read the Gospels the more convinced I am that He wouldn’t. In fact I believe He is grieved at how the organization called the church becomes the central point in our supposed faith walk. I submit to you that it is not!
Oh Lord, how we get caught up in things, how we get caught up in the traditions of men. How we feel church is where its at. How we get in our rut and figure that this is how church is supposed to be and that’s how this should be run in church. I truly don’t care because Jesus truly doesn’t care! Its not that important! Come judgment our Lord isn’t going to ask me how many programs I did in church, how many times I spoke, was I popular in church or wasn’t I. He’s going to ask me what did I do with what He gave me! I have to remind myself every day, there’s a judgment coming, for me, and I can’t say, well my pastor can speak for me, or ask my church. God doesn’t care about that. He will want me to show what I did for Him.
So I ask myself, what is ministry? Is it a position, a title, a business? Or is it being the feet of Jesus, the hands of Jesus, the mouth piece of Jesus? Is it being all refined and proper or is it going to the outcasts as the Lord did?”
It rained – so we didn’t do the backyard camping. Had lots of fun anyway though! Indoor s’mores taste good too!
My cousin and her family are visiting this weekend. I need to go food shopping and straighten up the house. If the weather cooperates – we’ll be camping out in the backyard. Tents. BBQ. Fire pit. Marshmallows. Good times!

Daniel turned 3 in April:

Mina turned 10 in July:

We’ve all been doing lots of reading. I’m so glad the girls have the same love of reading as I do. Hopefully the boys will love to read when they learn how to. The weather here in NEPA hasn’t been too great. Lots of rain and cool temps.
I haven’t been spinning so nothing new there. As for knitting, I’m almost done with Hannah’s sweater and I started Molly’s sweater and some socks (La Digitessa) are on the needles for portable knitting. I’m planning on picking up the spinning again soon. I’ll post pictures here of Hannah’s sweater when it’s finished – if you’re on ravelry I have pictures up there.
I need to exercise more (and um, lose weight) so, I bought a mini stair stepper (inexpensive and takes up very little space) to work out on while I knit or read. Let’s hope it helps! I’ll start using it next week when I’ve recovered more from my umbilical hernia repair surgery I had on July 3rd. (I developed a hernia from a previous laproscopic surgery.) I might purchase a bicycle and trailer (for the boys to sit in) and bike ride with the girls too.
Molly turned 8 back in February and I never posted a picture (like I usually do when the kiddos have a birthday) so, here’s Molly:

I finished Tangled Yoke Cardigan (rav link) (but I don’t like the buttons, so I’ll be changing them):
I knit the girls some pocket slippers (rav link):
And…..we got a puppy! She’s a black lab and her name is Winnie:
There’s a couple of more pictures of Winnie over HERE.
from a blog break. I’ll be posting an update later this evening with lots of pictures, including our new adorable and smart black lab puppy, Winnie. She’s great and we all love her lots!
This kids and I exchanged vintage valentines (found free, online from various sources, then printed on cardstock). Sometime, in the very near future, I need to post photos of: Molly’s birthday, my Tangled Yoke Cardigan, Mina’s progress on her (xxs) February Lady Sweater, and… I think that’s it. Maybe some spinning pics if I get around to it.
I’m feeling like it’s time to get more serious about moving. We’d like a larger piece of property, and hopefully a closer knit community than where we’re at now. Also, Sarah’s friend’s dog (a beautiful, smart, chocolate lab) had puppies and we’re considering purchasing one of them. (Probably a black female, or maybe a white one, I’d have to meet them first. I really wanted a chocolate lab, but all the chocolate ones are male, and I want a female dog. I don’t know why. I’m just rolling with my gut feelings here.)
Oh, and I’m going to take the plunge and order seeds for my garden on Monday. I may have to go smaller and container garden (so I can bring them with us) if it doesn’t look like we’ll be moved by spring planting. We’ll see. The company I’m planning to order from says their seeds are good for a few years, so if I don’t use them all this year, I’ll use them next year. This will be my first year vegetable gardening (I’ve had small flower gardens in the past, but that’s it), so I’ll be on a learning curve. I’ve been reading all winter (I’ve acquired a decent gardening/homesteading library), which I know is not the same as doing, but, got to start somewhere. I wonder what the neighbors would think if we got some chickens?
