- WHO ME?
Rachel Ann here, what's your favorite color?
I'm a 30 something mom who homeschools her six children. I knit, I spin, and sometimes I pull out the sewing machines and sew something pretty.
Sometimes I sell hand spun yarn, hand knits, or other crafty items. - DAILY BREAD
”Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 Contents

Looking forward to seeing these — the Knitty pattern, yes? I love that one!
Hi Margo! Actually, it’s my own pattern. I knit the first pair for Mina, the FO post is here: http://www.casajavaknits.com/theblog/?p=113 – I started Mina’s in November and finished in December. I’ll have to go look at the knitty pattern and see how similar they are. Maybe I’ll post a pithy pattern for mine here on the blog.
Hi Rachel,
Your little ballet slippers are adorable, and this yarn looks yummy too.
I see you had a very lovely Xmas. Now that all of our children are long grown and gone, it doesn’t seem as much fun, but I still enjoy the pretty lights and the music.
Take care
Happy belated Birthday!! I’m back in town, so if you want to meet up at Borders, just let me know!
Thanks eve!
RYC: The Russian Bind-off variation is what I used for these. I think I probably didn’t loosen the stitch enough before I put it back on the needle? I’d used the regular Russian bind off on Mike’s socks and it was nice and stretchy, but I don’t like the way the edge ruffled. I’m going to go read the rest of Wendy’s suggestions, though!
I can’t wait to see them finished! I bet they’ll be grand!
